Nelly And Entourage Get Detained
Nelly was detained on Wednesday night (October 10th) after cops found drugs and gun on his tour bus. According to TMZ.com, Nelly's bus was stopped at a border patrol checkpoint in Sierra Blanca, Texas when a police canine detected the presence of drugs. When cops pulled the bus over and searched the bus, they found 36 small baggies of heroin -- totaling .64 ounces and over ten pounds of marijuana insider a large green duffel bag -- which is about the size of a large bed pillow. Cops also found a loaded .45 caliber pistol.
All seven passengers on Nelly's bus were detained. Luckily for the rapper, one of the passengers Brian Keith Jones admitted that the drug and guns were his. He was arrested and Nelly and the others were let go.
This checkpoint is the same one were other celebs like Willie Nelson, Snoop Dogg and Fiona Apple were arrested.
NELLY RELEASED A STATEMENT
Nelly released a statement about the incident. Of course, he said that the drugs and gun were not his. He said, "It is my understanding a member of my staff made an unfortunate decision to bring unlawful materials onto our tour bus that resulted in his arrest this morning, October 11th. "
He continued, "Neither I nor anyone else on the tour bus was aware of his decision to bring these on board. Law enforcement officials in Sierra Blanca, Texas did not press charges against anyone other than that individual."
