21-year-old Rajo Verma of India is married to Guddu. And also Bajju, Sant Ram, Gopal and Dinesh. She's only officially married to Guddu, but per her town's tradition, she had to accept his brothers as her husbands, too. They rotate; Rajo sleeps with a different one every night in their one-room shack.
She's unsure of who the father of her 18-month-old toddler is, but the arrangement seems to work. Guddu says, "We all have sex with her but I'm not jealous. We're one big happy family." And Rajo's equally philosophical: "I get a lot more attention and love than most wives."
She said: “Initially it felt a bit awkward. But I don’t favor one over the other.”
Eldest brother Bajju said: “I consider her my wife and sleep with her like my brothers.” Rajo cooks, cleans and looks after 18-month-old Jay while her hubbies go out to work in Dehradun, northern India.
She said of the ancient tradition, called polyandry: “My mother was also married to three brothers so when I got wed I knew I had to accept all of them as my husbands.
